About Me

My name is Callum (Cal) Anderson (He/Him) and I am a technical theatre artist residing in Halifax/Kjipuktuk. I focus primarily on puppetry and prop making, but I also work in creature design and painting on the side. I recently completed the technical theatre program at Dalhousie University, with a specialization in props. I have been creating art since I could hold a pencil, and have grown up being inspired by artists such as Jim Henson, Brian Froud, and Charles Vess. I strive to create art that gives a sense of “Magical Realism”, and I enjoy using natural materials, especially in my puppet builds, to achieve this look. Whether it’s crafting unique props or springing iconic puppets from paper to the stage, I can't wait to see what we can come up with together!
